Knoppix: Bootproblem

Hallo Kollegen,

Dank Eurer Hilfe läuft nun schon recht viel auf meiner Knoppix-Kiste
(habe ein paar faule Tricks angewendet für das Netzwerk, aber da bin
ich einfach pragmatisch - ob jetzt guter Stil oder nicht... -
hauptsache Läuft... (-;)

Was ich nicht in den Griff kriege ist das booten, bis dato tut er das
nur von Diskette.

Beim Bootversuch von Platte kommt:

L 01 01 01 01 01.......... ca. 10 Zeilen davon.

Ich verwende den lilo; es hängt eine SCSI-Platte an einem
Onboard-Controller, diese hat eine boot-, eine root- und eine
swap-Partition.

Losgegangen ist der Ärger vermutlich damit, das das Install-Skript
drauf bestanden hat, die SCSI-Platte als "sdb" zu behandeln und den
ersten IDE-Controller als "sda" anzusehen; dies vermutlich deswegen,
weil bei der alten Installation eine SCSI-IDE-Emulation läuft,
vermute, diese hat das Inst-Skript verwirrt.

Seltsamerweise funktioniert die IDE-SCSI-Emulation, obwohl ich sie
auskommentiert habe.

Mache ich in dieser Konfiguration ein "lilo", kommt die Meldung "no
medium found".

Ersetze ich "sda" durch "sdb", kommt nach "lilo":

root@192:/etc# lilo
Warning: /dev/sdb is not on the first disk
Added Linux *

...aber leider die gleiche Fehlermeldung.

Eine lilo -M bringt auch nix.


Meine Vermutung ist, daß lilo ein Problem damit hat, von sdb zu
booten - hat jemand eine Idee, wie ich ihn dazu bringe, die Platte,
die er jetzt immer als sdb behandelt, wieder als sda zu nehmen.

Oder soll ich "einfach" grub installieren stattdessen?

Hoffe, die Infos, die Ihr braucht, um Euch ein Bild zu machen, sind
halbwegs komplett - sonst bitte nachfragen.
