Danke für eure Hilfe. Aber ich geb jetzt auf - nachdem ich gestern den
Abend und heute den halben Tag mit Updateversuchen zugebracht habe. Auch
nach Wiederherstellung des Factory-Zustandes funktioniert weder ein
Update von Android/MIUI noch von den Google Apps. Schade für die
vergeudete Zeit.

Wegwerfen - neu kaufen. Alles andere ist leider zu aufwändig bzw. zu
teuer - und statt Spaß bringt mir das Frust.

Falls es jemand dennoch interessiert:
Mittlerweile kann ich mit FASTBOOT Images installieren - zumindest
theoretisch.
Praktisch scheitere ich beim Versuch mit FASTBOOT zu flashen mit
"error:Mismatching image and device":

Da ich nicht weiß, was der Unterschied zwischen "Special Edition" und
"SD variant" ist, habe ich beides probiert. Beides mit dem gleichen
Ergebnis.
