Guck mal RFC 1855:

     - Delivery receipts, non-delivery notices, and vacation programs
       are neither totally standardized nor totally reliable across the
       range of systems connected to Internet mail.  They are invasive
       when sent to mailing lists, and some people consider delivery
       receipts an invasion of privacy.  In short, do not use them.

Genau so empfinde ich das auch. Als nicht schlimm, aber zu neugierig.

Zumindest nerviger als Reply-To-Adressen oder doppelte Emails oder 
fehlerhafte Umlaute/Umbrüche und was es sonst noch so alles gibt.

BTW. RFC sind doch, wie der Name sagt "Request for comments" also gerade 
keine verpflichtenden Standards, sondern Diskussionsgrundlage. Inwieweit 
kann man dann bei irgendeinem RFC überhaupt von einem "Standard" 
sprechen, wenn dessen Inhalt nicht in eine Norm (ISO etc.) eingegangen ist?
